Just got back from Texas on Monday after completing my best meet ever! I had a 38.6 All Around 1st place finish, which beat my personal best level 10 score by a whole point. It was an incredible feeling. The results of the meet were:
9.525 – Vault – 3rd
9.7 – Bars – 1st
9.7 – Beam – 1st
9.675 – Floor – 2nd
38.6 – AA – 1st
At one point, my coaches and I had thought I had qualified for the Nastia Cup, because I competed as a junior and had won the whole junior division in all sessions. However, to determine the junior Nastia Qualifier they used a different method of calculating age groupings for the Nastia meet, which put me up into the senior division. I was a little disappointed at first, but then I realized God had allowed me to do some incredible things at this meet and that together we will have more opportunities in the future to achieve this goal. Seeing all of my hard work and persistence paying off, especially on vault makes me so grateful and happy.
This season has just been awesome so far. I am enjoying the journey so much and when I look back to last year at this time, I am amazed at the growth I have had over the year.
I wouldn’t be where I am at today without the guidance and support from all my Prestige coaches. I love them like family. I am also so blessed to have such wonderful family and friends who support me as well. As any gymnast knows this sport comes with a lot of ups and downs and without a great support system it almost becomes impossible to pursue at a high level. Thankfully, I have the very best support of all up in Heaven watching over me all day long. I couldn’t ask for anything more!
Next Friday is the Pink Invitational and I am looking forward to it very much!
