I just completed a couple of successful days in Landover, MD at the Hills Classic. Saturday was the Team Competition and Prestige won second place in the Level 10/Open Division. We had a great showing! I finished 2nd All Around with a 37.2 and qualified for Event Finals on Floor, Bars and Beam. Event Finals took place on Sunday evening and I was very eager to improve on all 3 of those events from the evening before. I believe I accomplished that goal by receiving a 9.25, 3rd place on bars, a 9.45 2nd place on beam and a 9.6, 1st place on floor. I was feeling very confident and am really happy with how the start of my season is unfolding.
Another great part about this competition was that I got to see some of my future Mountaineer teammates, who also did very well at this meet. I am truly excited about the relationships I am already building with them.
Over the next couple of weeks we will be preparing for our home meet, the Katie Baldwin Invitational, which will be a lot of fun.
Well, that’s about it for now. As always, I am very grateful to my coaches and family and friends support system. More importantly though, I am thankful to my Father in Heaven for keeping me safe and as healthy as possible, so that I can continue this amazing journey. I have truly learned over the years that a grateful heart and spirit gets you so much farther in life, no matter what the circumstances are.
Love and Hugs,
